Southern Country South Florida (SoCoSoFo) is a community-based all-volunteer nonprofit corporation dedicated to the promotion of Country & Western activities within the gay and lesbian community, providing a casual, non- pressured atmosphere for people to meet and enjoy other Country & Western dancers. Southern Country South Florida is a proud member of the International Association of Gay and Lesbian Country Western Dance Clubs (IAGLCWDC).

Southern Country South Florida is best known for providing Country-Western dance instruction and open dancing weekly for the Miami-Dade and Broward area. Southern Country South Florida hosts open Country & Western dancing in south Florida.

In addition to dance instruction, Southern Country South Florida promotes education in Country- Western dancing through written materials and on our website. We also publicize other opportunities for Country-Western dance instruction in South Florida.
SoCoSoFo provides a vehicle for Country-Western dancers to showcase their talents at special events in the community.
SoCoSoFo is dedicated to contributing to the greater gay/lesbian community by raising funds for other worthy charities.
SoCoSoFo increases the sense of fellowship within the current Country- Western community, and promotes a greater awareness of Country- Western dancing in the general community, and most importantly, provides a Country-Western venue for the gay and lesbian community of South Florida..

Southern Country South Florida belongs to all of us, and its success depends on broad community involvement. If you are not already actively involved, we appeal to you for your help.

Volunteers - We always need volunteers to help at SoCoSoFo, or with any of our various projects. Donating even one hour of your time every month or two can make a difference. It's a good way to meet people, and you can feel first-hand the satisfaction that comes from contributing to our community and supporting of other community projects. We strive to keep our admission fees affordable for everyone. Contributions from individuals like you are essential to the survival of Southern Country South Florida and the future of Country-Western dancing in South Florida. This past year, 60% of our income came from direct donations and memberships. Consider donating an extra dollar or two when you visit SoCoSoFo.

Of course, larger contributions are always welcome!

Memberships - You can become a member of Southern Country South Florida! Memberships constitute a formal way of donating, while emphasizing the community base of the Country-Western atmosphere. Members receive some tangible benefits, such as invitations to member meetings. Members of the Southern Country South Florida automatically belong to the International! Association of Gay and Lesbian Country-Western Dance Clubs (IAGLCWDC). Membership fees are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. However, the primary and intangible reason to become a member is simply to take pride in the knowledge that you are contributing to the future of Country-Western dancing in South Florida, while giving back to the gay and lesbian community.
